LA by way of San Francisco offbeat comedian Brent Weinbach will perform his debut album in its entirety this Friday at the Verdi Club in SF.

“It’s become popular for some bands to play certain albums in their entirety, but it’s kind of weird to think of a comedian doing the same thing. Then again, it’s not as if this is the first time it’s been pointed out that something Brent Weinbach is doing is weird.  On Friday night at the Verdi Club, Weinbach – who’s known for, among other things, an oddly intense stage presence and doing strange characters and funny accents – is celebrating the release of his new comedy disc, “The Night Shift,” with a performance that will find him re-creating most of the album in order. Unlike most comedy albums, only a portion of the album’s nearly 65 minutes comes from a live performance, with the rest of the time devoted to answering-machine messages, reimagined phone calls, bits done in a studio and relatively serious songs played on piano.” -SF Gate

“Obscenely, disturbingly brilliant.” – L.A. Weekly
“Weird, scary, hilarious.” – Time Out NY

A former substitute teacher in East Oakland, Brent began his comedy career in the underground San Francisco scene but now tours all over the United States at clubs, colleges, festivals, theaters, music venues and living rooms. Brent was the recipient of the 2007 Andy Kaufman Award at the HBO Comedy Festival, he’s toured with The Comedians of Comedy, killed at the Coachella and Bumbershoot festivals,  created and starred in the Super Deluxe web series Weinbach in Wonderland and recently opened for Patton Oswald at the Outside Lands Festival.   He also has a t-shirt with his name and his face on it.  Be sure to check out his album out on Talent Moat next week, 9/15/09.  Brent was recently featured on radio program, “The Sound of Young America,” check it out below:
