Canadian electro-poppers Dragonette are back with their first album since 2007′s Galore. Fixin To Thrill is a strong sophmore effort from the Juno nominated quartet. Originally formed in 2005 by singer/songwriter Martina Sobara and bassist/producer Dan Kurtz (The New Deal), Dragonette vaulted on to the scene shortly thereafter opening for New Order in only their 2nd gig. Following their live success Sobara and Kurtz solidified a 4 person line-up and began working on Galore.

Following the success of Galore Dragonette went back into the studio and continued their development as a band. They emerged with Fixin To Thrill a 12 track powerhouse of electro pop goodness. The album has already released in Europe, Canada and Australia and the early returns have been amazing. In Canada it has been in the top 5 iTunes Pop LPs, and currently sits in the Top 10 on the overall chart. In Australia “Pick Up The Phone” was iTunes Single Of The Week with one of the highest download totals of the year in that market for iTunes. In France “Boys and Girls” is #4 on the iTunes singles chart. The US results are yet to be determined, but one thing is clear, in a few short years Dragonette have vaulted to the forefront of the electro pop scene and with Fixin To Thrill have established themselves as a musical force.
