The New York Philharmonic launched an iTunes Pass this week to celebrate and share their inaugural season with new music director, Alan Gilbert! The pass will allow users to own live Philharmonic concert recordings of more than 50 works performed during the 2009-10 season, each released within weeks of the actual concert, as well as additional recordings of concerts from recent seasons and other bonus content. Users will automatically receive download releases on a regular basis each month through August 2010 for a one-time cost of $150.
In celebration of the launch of Alan Gilbert: The Inaugural Season iTunes Pass, the New York Philharmonic Principal Brass Quintet gave a free performance Monday night in the newly opened Apple Store near Lincoln Center.
Congratulations to the NY Philharmonic!
