Congratulations to Modern Radio Record Label on celebrating their 10th anniversary! The Twin Cities indie/punk label founded by Tom Loftus has now been gracing the midwest with it’s stellar releases for a decade strong. Started as a DIY indie label in the late 90′s to document and support the developing local punk/indie rock scene in the Twin Cities area, Modern Radio has grown over the years with Peter Mielech joining Loftus as a partner in 2005. Always focused on the music itself Modern Radio has managed to succeed without sacrificing integrity.
“It’s not easy to keep a labor of love alive—that’s certainly true for indie record labels, and even many successful ones have been wrecked by bad luck, bad decisions, or plain old burnout. But Minneapolis label Modern Radio has been happily plugging away for a decade thanks to both a passion for documenting the Twin Cities music scene and a pragmatism focused on long-term survival.” -Christopher Bahn for A.V. Club
