A Sad Week for Music Continues- RIP Paulo Moura, Olga Guillot, Walter Hawkins

On the heels of the sad news of singer Sugar Minott’s death, the music industry has suffered three more blows with the deaths of Paulo Moura, Olga Guillot, and Walter Hawkins. All three were hugely accomplished and talented musicians; their deaths are a real loss.

Moura was a Latin Grammy-winning clarinet player and Brazilian jazz and folk artist and passed away July 12th while receiving treatment for lymphoma (for more information, read his obituary over at Billboard).

Walter Hawkins, a Gospel singer and pastor, earned nine Grammy nominations and won a Grammy in 1980 for “The Lord’s Prayer”.  He passed away on July 11th after a battle with pancreatic cancer (click here for the full story).
