Kites With Lights Cosmonauts combines dreamy melodies & dance floor ready beats creating thoughtful indie electro pop.  Blending Synth Pop sonics with Dream Pop ideals, Kites With Lights melds 80′s New Wave with 90′s Shoegaze using 21st century technology to create songs with a clean & clear aesthetic: Electro Pop with a purpose. A focused extension of 2009′s The Weight of Your Heart EP, the modern construct of Cosmonauts finds a place where Dream Pop becomes the soundtrack for a blissed out dance floor, a rainy introspective day at home or a late night drive with heads bopping to the beat. Soar to the stratosphere of your ear with Cosmonauts.

The remarkable thing about Kites With Lights is you can sense that each song is longing to fill time. Timeless is the key to a Kites With Lights tune: A clean and clear aesthetic: Electro Pop with a purpose. It’s an expanding feeling and there is a recipe hidden within. Kites With Lights incorporate looking up and staring down, a dramatic curve where raindrops equal dance beats, past love equals whispery vocals… And somehow you feel that the film in your dreams finally has a soundtrack.

Yet another gem to come out of Chicago’s Atlas Studios (Alkaline Trio, The Menzingers, Dead To Me, etc) and long-time Copyright’s fans will notice more instrumentation, experimentation, and added bells and whistles on this latest offering. But the nerds and die-hards need not fear, these are still the same pop-punk heroes we’ve come to rely on for big choruses, bigger hooks, and keen lyrics.  This single is featured on their full length release, North Sentinel Island, which is now available for download also.

In the waning months of the 20th century, legendary Seattle band Screaming Trees went back into the studio one last time. Having been released from their label and realizing that the outlook was grim, the Trees entered Stone Gossard’s Studio Litho to preserve the last batch of songs the band had written. Financed by the band and produced by drummer Barrett Martin, these sessions proved to be their last. On June 25th, 2000, the Trees played their final concert in front of 20,000 people at Seattle’s Memorial Stadium, after which the band members went their separate ways. The final recordings were never mixed or released, and for more than a decade, the original two-inch tapes lay gathering dust in the basement of Gossard’s studio.

Chico Buarque releases his first album with unpublished songs in five years. The self titled album, Chico, features ten new tracks and has special participations of João Bosco, Thais Gulin and Wilson das Neves.  In this album Chico pays tribute to Blues and Bossa, without forgetting the Samba.

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1944, Buarque spent his early youth in Sao Paulo and Italy. Upon returning to Brazil, Buarque artistic development was greatly enhanced by the friends of his father (the historian Sergio Buarque de Holanda) who were prominent in the early bossa nova movement. Although he immersed himself in music, specifically the new bossa nova sounds of João Gilberto, Buarque decided that a college education was more practical and he decided to study architecture at the University of Sao Paulo. That turned out to be a short-lived career choice and it wasn’t long before Buarque was cutting classes and hanging out with Sao Paulo’s bossa nova cognoscenti.
