As summer arrives the eagerly anticipated outdoor music festival season is upon us. One of the festivals which I’m planning to attend this year is the Harmony Festival which takes place next week in Santa Rosa, CA from June 12 – June 14th.
The Harmony Festival is one of the longest running outdoor music festivals – now entering its 31st year. Starting out with only 500 participants, attendance for this event has reached 25,000 and now includes camping, vendors, speakers, and performers from all over the world. I attended last year for artists including Damian Marley, The Devil Makes Three, George Clinton and Heavyweight Dub Champion; it was fantastic.
Artists performing this year include India.Irie, The Dead Kennedy’s, CAKE, The Orb, Bad Brains, Michael Franti, and many more! There is also a nightly party/dance event called Techno Tribal which is a great way to end the evening. As a bonus, this year they have also added an Eco Cup skateboarding competition as well as a Tattoo parlor. Check out a full line up here.
